Mary Hardin-Baylor quarterback Kyle King and his teammate, defensive end Sante Parker lead the D3football.com 2022 All-Region 3 team. King was named Region 3 Offensive Player of the Year, while Parker was named the Region 3 Defensive Player of the Year.

UMHB coach Larry Harmon, who has coached UMHB to the national semifinals, is the Region 3 Coach of the Year. It’s his first season as head coach and his first selection as a D3football.com regional Coach of the Year.

The 2022 D3football.com All-Region teams are sponsored by Stevenson University, hosts of Stagg Bowl XLIX, which will be played Friday, Dec. 16, at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland. For more information, go to bit.ly/stagg49.

NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region 3 includes the American Southwest Conference, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, the Southern Athletic Association and the USA South Athletic Conference.

King, from Milano, Texas, has thrown for 3,429 yards in 13 games for the Cru, completing 66.8 percent of his passes and throwing 39 touchdowns, with 5 interceptions. He has also run for 217 yards and a touchdown as UMHB heads into a national semifinal contest at North Central (Ill.).

Parker, a senior from Katy, Texas, recorded 19 tackles for loss, including 9½ sacks, from his defensive end spot for the Cru. He recorded 48 tackles, 23 of them solo, adding four hurries, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles.

The teams, selected in balloting by Region 3 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 177 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 79 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 16, in D3football.com’s pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLIX.
