Wesley's first game without Joe Callahan behind center proved to be one the Wolverines would rather forget, as No. 7 Wesley fell to No. 25 Delaware Valley.

Shawn Miller, a Delaware native playing in his home state for the first time as a collegian, intercepted three passes and two Wesley quarterbacks combined to go 27-for-46 for 251 yards and four interceptions in the Aggies' 21-14 win. The Wolverines threw four interceptions and were minus-5 on turnovers. 

Wesley had a chance to tie the score or take the lead with 2:06 left. On third-and-17 from the Wesley 26, Wolverines quarterback Nick Falkenberg hit Bryce Shade for a 24-yard gain but linebacker Nick Wright knocked the ball out and it was recovered by Christian Snowden. Del Val was able to run out the clock and seal the victory.

No. 23 Salisbury opened its new stadium in memorable fashion as Ryan Jones ran for two touchdowns and Connor Canonico added two more in a 34-18 win vs. No. 16 Albright. DJ Davis forced a fumble and had an interception for the Sea Gulls.

Stevenson picked off a school-record six passes, three of them by cornerback Billy Lewis, and the Mustangs escaped opening night with a 42-28 win vs. visiting N.C. Wesleyan. Lewis returned his final interception 38 yards for a touchdown to give the Mustangs a lead they would not relinquish, and Jainard Crawley-Lambert put the capper on it with his second touchdown run of the night, a 50-yarder to put him over 100 for the game.

Nick Palladino completed 26 of 36 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns and Muhlenberg held on to win 29-22 at Wilkes. The Mules rolled out to a 22-3 lead at the half before the Colonels rallied, but Muhlenberg punter Anthony Natale pinned Wilkes at the 2 and the 5 on their final two possessions and the Colonels were unable to mount a potential game-tying drive.

Senior Blaine Bursey converted all four extra-point attempts and all three field goal opportunities, including the overtime game-winner to lift WPI past MIT 37-34. The two Engineers will be members of the NEWMAC in 2017. MIT missed a 42-yard field goal in its half of overtime and Bursey answered with a 19-yarder for the win.

Cory Burnham threw four touchdown passes and Eddie Sheridan and Mike Slaughter each ran for more than 100 yards as Mass-Dartmouth rolled past Mount Ida in its opener, 40-9. The Corsairs rushed for nearly 400 yards and Burnham threw touchdowns to four receivers.
