ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick scored the game's opening 34 points in a 41-14 rout of visiting Apprentice School for the team's second straight win on Saturday at Wright Stadium. The Hawks scored three touchdowns, including two defensive scores in the first 17 and a half minutes, to take command early. The Hawks' offense would rack up 458 yards of offense on the day, 284 through the air and 174 on the ground.
The Hawks started quickly as linebacker Matthew Ali (Sayville, NY/Sayville) batted the Builders' first pass into the air which was caught and ran back for a 25-yard touchdown by safety Cory Wood (Hauppage, NY/Hauppage) three minutes into the first quarter.
Tito Pichardo's (Washingtonville, NY/Washingtonville) one-yard run extended the Hawks' lead less than a minute into the second quarter and Korey Jubie's (Kingston, NY/Kingston) second straight PAT made it 14-0 Hawks.
On the Builders' third play from scrimmage after getting the ball back, Frank Sorrenti (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwell) forced a fumble and tackle Anthony Rotunno (Hawthorne, NY/Westlake) scooped the ball up and ran it back 42 yards for the score and a 20-0 Hartwick advantage.

The first was a 97-yard touchdown reception by senior wide receiver Tanner Williams (Eagle Bridge, NY/Hoosick Falls) with 4:24 left in the third quarter. Quarterback Billy Pine (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls) scored the Hawks' final touchdown with 6:47 left in the game on a 65-yard touchdown run.
Pichardo would end the day with his first collegiate 100-yard rushing performance. He finished with 101 yards on 10 carries. Williams closed the game with three catches for 167 yards. Brad Garcia caught four passes for 88 yards. John Garcia threw for 263 yards and two scores on 11 completions.
