Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team started slowly but controlled the final three quarters as the fourth-ranked Cru rolled to a 43-10 victory over Wisconsin-La Crosse Saturday night in Belton. UMHB improves to 3-0 on the season with its 57th consecutive regular season win. The loss drops the Eagles to 1-2 on the season.

UMHB forced a three and out on the opening possession and took a 3-0 lead on Jacob O'Neill's 27-yard field goal. Wisconsin-La Crosse answered with a 43-yard field goal from Joshua Fischer to even it at 3-3 with 4:10 left in the first quarter. UMHB had a 13-yard touchdown run from Malcolm Miller wiped out by a penalty on the next drive and O'Neill missed a field goal to leave it 3-3 going into the second quarter. Blake Jackson's 16-yard scoring run gave the Cru a 10-3 lead and Duane Thompson raced 31 yards for another score to push it to 17-3. Michael Carpenter added a two-yard touchdown plunge on the next possession and O'Neill connected on a 46-yard field goal to make it 27-3 UMHB at halftime.

Zach Anderson scored on a three-yard run on the opening possession of the second half and Miller added a two-yard scoring run as the Cru stretched the lead to 40-3. John Mowery would hit a 23-yard field goal for UMHB with 10:04 left to play for the only scoring of the fourth quarter to provide the final margin.
