PASADENA — Seven Leopards earned All-SCIAC recognition from the league's coaches, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Alex Arellano and Dallas Parent were named to First Team while Beau Kitson, Austin Brown, Josh Hardy, Josh Padilla and Russell Boucher garnered Second Team honors.

Arellano was second in the SCIAC in total receptions and total yards. He hauled in a career-high 61 passes for 812 yards and five touchdowns. He was one of two receivers in the SCIAC (Adam Lacombe) to average over 90 receiving yards per game. Arellano leaves La Verne as the program's all-time receptions leader with 139.

Parent led the SCIAC in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns and was one of only two players in the league (Aseal Birir) to average over 100 yards rushing per game. The senior finished the season with 1,237 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He was the only player in the SCIAC to run for over 1,000 yards on the season.

Kitson moved to center from right tackle this season and anchored an offensive line that paved the way for an offense that averaged the second-most total yards in the SCIAC. The Leopards averaged 441.2 yards of offense per game.

Brown, a sophomore, has emerged as a premier interior lineman in the SCIAC. His 12.5 tackles for loss were second-most in the SCIAC and he averaged 6.3 tackles per game, which ranked 15th in the league. He also notched four sacks and had one fumble recovery.

Hardy finished the season with 43 total tackles and nine tackles for loss. His 4.5 sacks in SCIAC play ranked fourth in the league.

Freshman Padilla was thrown into the fire after a rash of injuries on defense, locking down a safety spot and emerging as one of the best young defenders in the league. He made a total of 38 tackles on the season, including four for loss. Padilla was one of only two freshmen on the All-SCIAC Teams.

Boucher averaged 41.3 yards per punt on 34 attempts. He pinned eight of them inside the opponent's 20 and recorded three touchbacks.

Bryan Scott of Occidental was named the Offensive Player of the Year, Mitch Shepherd of Redlands was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year and Pomona-Pitzer's Karter Odermann was named the Newcomer of the Year. Pomona-Pitzer's coaching staff led by Roger Caron was named the Coaching Staff of the Year.
