BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University football team suffered its first loss of the 2024 campaign as it fell to No. 4 Mount Union in an Ohio Athletic Conference and Homecoming game by a final score of 52-14 on the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium.
Mount Union (3-0, 2-0 OAC) improved to 40-21-1 in the all-time series with BW (3-1, 2-1 OAC).
Sophomore quarterback Charlie Bubonics (Solon) was named the was named Frank Ropollo Offensive Player of the Game and junior defensive lineman Hasim Rashid (Cleveland/Shaker Heights) was named the Dick Miller Defensive Player of the Game.
Offensively for the Yellow Jackets, Bubonics completed 25-of-36 passes for 177 yards with one touchdown. Sophomore running back George Linberger (Barberton/St. Vincent-St. Mary) rushed for 20 yards on five carries. Sophomore wide receiver Colin Quinlan (Willoughby/South) led the receiving corps as he caught six passes for 50 yards. Defensively, senior defensive back Alden Steele (Lorain/Amherst) had seven tackles.
Offensively for the Purple Raiders, junior quarterback Noah Beaudrie completed 14-of-24 passes for 282 yards with two touchdowns. Beaudrie also rushed for a game-high 95 yards on 12 carries with a touchdown. Junior wide receiver Jerry Cooper, Jr. caught seven passes for 112 yards with one touchdown. Defensively, senior All-American linebacker Rossy Moore tallied 10 tackles
