2024 All-SCIAC Football Release

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2024 All-SCIAC football teams and seven University of Redlands football players made the first and second teams. Making the first team is Jax Lee, Aaron Muniz, Craig Hunter and on the second team is Isaiah Alvarado, Benjamin Fitchett, Maximus Susi, and Cole Smith.

Lee makes the first team for the second consecutive season. He had 18 total tackles with 3.5 tackles for loss (TFL). He added a pass break up, two quarterback hurries, and forced and recovered a fumble.

Muniz is a first time selection. He finished 21^st in SCIAC with 4 tackles per game in their eight conference games. He also finished 11^th in TFL per game at .75 and 22^nd in sacks at .25.

Hunter makes the first team for a second time after making it in 2022. He was at the heart of the Bulldog defense, averaging 7.3 tackles per game (fourth most), 1.06 TFL (fifth most), .25 sacks (20^th most), and recovered a fumble at .13 (14^th most).

Despite general struggles for a Bulldog offense that had their top two quarterbacks get hurt, Alvarado would step up as he went from a few spots down on the depth chart to their most productive running back. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry (third highest), 47.9 yards per game (third highest), and added three rushing touchdowns. He also finished 12^th in total offense, fourth highest among non-quarterbacks. He is a first time All-SCIAC selection.

Fitchett is a first teamer for the second time in three years as a Bulldog. Despite finishing last in passing offense, the offensive lineman helped them to the second most rushing yards with 1,270, 153 more than second place Chapman University.

Susi averaged five tackles per game (11^th highest) and collected a fumble, one of only 19 players to do so. He makes All-SCIAC for the first time in his senior season.

Smith helped lead a defensive backfield that allowed only 5.6 yards per attempt (lowest). They were the only team to finish under six yards allowed. They also held opponents to only five passing touchdowns, two fewer than the next closet University of La Verne. He averaged 4.3 tackles per game (17^th most), .56 TFL (19^th most), defended .63 passes per game (11^th most), and .25 interceptions per game (ninth most).

Redlands will return Muniz, Alvarado, and Fitchett in 2025.
